Cannelle Berndt, former student in Ms Gastronomy and Oenology

After two years of studying at the Collège de Paris in bac + 4 and bac + 5 in the Ms Luxury Food and Wine Management, Cannelle Berndt has entered the active life with brilliance.

We asked her a few questions in order to learn more about her career and her impressions …

Why did you choose this path?
I’ve always been very curious about wine. At the end of my first communication / marketing master, I went to live in Shanghai. I worked for an importer / distributor, who opened the doors to me. On my return to France, I went to live a few months in London, to perfect my English, then I naturally turned to oenological trainings.

What do you think of your training at the Collège de Paris?
The training at the Collège de Paris allowed me to deepen my knowledge on “technical” aspects (Finance, Law, Customs), but above all to meet professionals of the profession who were and still are a real source of advice.

Tell me about the position you currently hold
I now work for Lixir, a distribution company, which manages a portfolio of international spirits brands. I am “Head of Sector Cavistes” for Paris and its suburb. My role is to activate the current business with the most beautiful Parisian wineries and to conquer new customers.

What do you think are the qualities required to succeed in this sector?
In my opinion, to move forward in this sector, you must above all be curious and passionate; I would add to be sincere in its exchanges, listening, responsive and rigorous.

What are your plans for the future?
I have the project to evolve within Lixir, in order to constitute a real Parisian network. Nevertheless, I remain listening to possible opportunities to the position of buyer.
